In Jenna Belmonte’s article ” Yoga Pants Lend Comfort, Show Off Figure on Lazy Days” she discusses how the yoga-pant proliferation and phenomenon become a zenith due to the comfort that yoga pants give to women and that it is essential to purchase the right fit when shopping for yoga pants.

Belmonte begins : “When shopping for yoga pants, it is imperative to keep length, fit and color in mind. You need to make sure the hemline of the pants is not too long. Yoga pants can help make your legs look leaner and longer, but if the fabric pools around your ankles or drags, you will appear shorter. It is a pain to hem yoga pants – and any pants for that matter –, so it is best to keep searching until you find the right length – just below the ankle.”

She goes further into fit by stating: ” As for fit, you want to make sure your yoga pants show off your shapeliness. Always try on the pants before purchasing them and be sure to check out the fit from every angle, paying close attention to how the fabric rests on your thighs and posterior. Below, are the necessary steps to achieve your leaning tree pose and stay balanced:

  • Stand with your feet together. Put all your weight into your left foot and lift your right foot off the ground. Grab onto your right ankle with your right hand, flex your foot, and place your heel as far up your leg as possible with your toes pointing down.
  • To prevent your right foot from sliding down, actively press your left leg and the sole of your right foot against each other. Draw your right knee back to open your hip.
  • Press your palms together in front of your heart and raise your arms over your head. Slowly lower your right forearm and rest it on your right thigh, leaning to the right.
  • Stay here for five breaths.
